The Wine Advocate 92/100
From a northeast-facing site on clay and flint soils with 20-year-old, 40 hectoliters per hectare-yielding vines (in organic conversion) and aged on the fine lees for 12 months prior to another eight months in stainless steel, the 2020 Chenin Beauvoirs offers a coolish, precise and intense, finely spicy, Chablis-like bouquet with delicate sur lie and some tropical fruit aromas. Silky, crystalline and very elegant on the palate, this is a linear, mineral and finely tannic Chenin more on the structural than textural side. The wine is sharp and precise and made to be served with seafood and fish, even raw. The finish is finely astringent and salty, with delicate bitters. 14.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted as a sample ready to be bottled in June 2022.
