The Wine Spectator 90/100
The red blend 2020 Acústic was produced with 75% Cariñena and 25% Garnacha. It has notes of pollen and beeswax and is heady and ripe at 15% alcohol; it is powerful and has notes of sweet spices intermixed with wild berries and herbs. It has abundant, slightly dusty tannins. Even the younger red here needs powerful food and is more of a winter than summer wine. It matured in oak barrels for 10 months. 87,800 bottles produced. It was bottled in late May 2022. Albert Jané has built a new winery for his Montsant project, Acústic Celler, in the outskirts of the village of Marçà, in the Finca el Hostal property where he has also planted five hectares of Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena and will continue planting to a total of nine hectares. The winery was finished in 2021. He additionally works 42 hectares of vines ranging between 25 and 98 years of age and produces 130,000 bottles. Farming is organic, and all the wines carry the certification.
