Acustic Celler
Priorat 2021 Etern
Reviews
The Wine Advocate 93/100
The toasty and dark 2021 Etern comes from very old vines and is mostly Cariñena with some 8% Garnacha. It has 15% alcohol and is full-bodied, powerful and concentrated but with good freshness. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and two to three weeks of maceration with soft punching down and matured in three used 400-liter French oak barrels for 12 months. It's smoky and spicy, with notes of black fruit, and it has a dusty texture, earthy, with abundant tannins and a dry finish. 1,632 bottles were filled in February 2023. Albert Jané hasn't stopped buying and restructuring his vineyards in Priorat for his Ritme Celler project. He now owns 14 hectares and works another six, all organically farmed, to produce close to 80,000 bottles. This year, he has a new impressive Cariñena from coster, slope vineyards, planted in 1920.
