The Wine Advocate 92/100
The red 2015 Allende is a perfect example of the style of this wine. It has a sleek palate with moderate acidity and polished tannins that make it very easy to drink. It was a warm and dry year that delivered powerful wines. This matured in French barriques for 14 months, and during that time, it was racked every two months. Miguel Ángel de Gregorio's project Finca Allende started when he arrived in Briones in 1986 and he started buying small plots of old vines. In 1995, he vinified the first Allende red. Later came the single-vineyard bottlings, Aurus, Calvario, Mártires. Finca Allende owns 74 hectares of vineyards in 146 separate plots and produces 300,000 bottles.
