Offering up aromas of sweet citrus and orange fruits, the 2023 Fixin Blanc Champs des Charmes is a medium-bodied, ample and fleshy wine from this young parcel. This is another strong set of wines from Amélie Berthaut, who has presided over this Fixin reference point for the better part of a decade now, uniting the vineyards of the Domaine Denis Berthaut on her father's side and Domaine François Gerbet on her mother’s. This enterprise now encompasses some 16 hectares, with Amélie's husband, Nicolas Faure, overseeing the vineyards. Soils are cultivated mechanically, and treatments are largely organic. In the winery, vinification incorporates increasing percentages of whole bunches, with less extraction and tannin than in yesteryear, emphasizing suavity and perfume. That plays into the style of the 2023 vintage, delivering supple and charming wines that will drink well pretty much on release.
